Family appreciative of support from the community
IT HAS been a very tough few weeks for the family of Phoenix McDonald in the wake of their family tragedy.
The Mount Perry community has been offering its support, with several events and fundraisers scheduled that are aiming to raise about $2000.
Phoenix’s family are very appreciative of the kindness shown and “would like to thank the love and support, which will always be remembered”.
Almost $700 was raised in the Easter raffle and the wheelbarrow raffle has raised $300 so far, with businesses across the region chipping in for prizes.
The community will continue to support the family through two upcoming fundraisers.
This coming Friday, April 28, the Mount Perry Hotel will be hosting four bands, starting about 6pm.
The bands will play a mix of songs, with proceeds going to the family.
The night will involve good food, music and dancing.
Everyone from the community is welcome to attend.
On May 20, the Mount Perry Hotel will host a Jukebox event, with proceeds going to the McDonalds.
Tickets cost $10 with a performance by MEGGA. The event will start at 7pm.
