Sign up for pest baiting seminars
NORTH Burnett Regional Council is conducting a series of co-ordinated wild dog and feral pig baiting workshops from May 9–12.
May 9 will be Durong/Hawkwood Rd for Mundubbera and Hurdle Gully (Avis Yards) for Monto.
May 10 will be Kerwee-Hollywell Rd for Eidsvold and Brian Pastures Rd for Gayndah.
May 11 will be Eidsvold/Theordore Rd, Redbank turnoff, for Eidsvold and Bull Pen, Isis Hwy, for Biggenden.
May 12 will be Briggs Yards for Mt Perry and the Mt Perry and Taylors Rd corner for Gayndah.
1080 bait poison will be supplied on the day, provided attending landholders provide their rates notice and Authority to Sign form if collecting on behalf of others.
They must also adhere to all necessary precautions about the laying of bait, including giving 72 hours notice to neighbours and keeping bait at least 2km from inhabited areas and 5km from towns.
Council chief executive officer Mark Pitt said feral animals were a continual problem all year around.
“Coming into winter, now would be a good time to run the program,” Mr Pitt said.
“The more people you can get to participate the better, because with a region-wide spread, the animals can’t just move to another area.”
Registrations close 4pm, May 3. Phone 1300 696 272 for more information.
