CATTLE TEAM SUCCESSES
Term 2 is the Show Circuit term for the Monto State High School Cattle Team. This year, the Cattle Team has grown to include 30 students with an interest in the club extending to the Year 7 and 8 students. In preparation for the 2017 Show Season, two training clinics were held in Term 1, with the students participating in both theory and practical lessons, covering areas of grooming, handling, parading and judging. With the support and guidance offered by Mr Worley and Ms Wilson the Cattle Team have been preparing for the busy term ahead. The Cattle Team recently competed at the Gayndah and Mt Perry Shows with our students performing incredibly well. The students displayed their skills and knowledge across the categories of Paraders, Prime and Stud Judging at each show, with the Cattle Team being successful in placing in many of these events.
Congratulations to Nanci Wilson who placed first in Senior Paraders and second in Senior Stud Judging and Maddi Low who placed First in Senior Stud Judging and third in Senior Paraders at the Mount Perry Show. Further congratulations to Anna Phillips for placing first in both the Junior Stud and Prime Judging sections at the Mount Perry Show. We wish out students and the Cattle Team all the best for the upcoming Monto Show.
