IT’S a new activity brought to the Mundubbera Show and will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 5pm. The Young Farmers Challenge showcases the skills, equipment and techniques farmers use everyday through a set of practical field activities.

The Young Farmers Challenge is designed to promote excellence in farming and is a great addition to the show. Its aim is to promote correct farming techniques, give exposure to new technologies, promote safety at work, showcase farmers as energetic, hard-working and multi-skilled.

Young Farmers Challenge coordinator Paige Leifels said it was an event not to miss.

“We were inspired by the Ekka and are hoping it will attract more people to the show, it’s a series of seven challenges,” Mrs Leifels said.

“The activity involves strength and common knowledge and we’re hoping to get around 10 teams involved.”

The Young Farmers Challenge kicks off at 5pm on Saturday, May 13.
