Tee­ing off for golf comp

GOLF: Len Weier has taken out both the end-of-monthly com­pe­ti­tion and the C-Grade Monthly Medal at the Mun­dub­bera Golf Club with a score of 93, nett 65.

Club president Gra­ham Car­lyon said the com­pe­ti­tion was a close one.

“It’s al­ways a good game, we had some run­ner-ups with Peter Hun­sley and Col Cluff from dif­fer­ent grades,” Mr Car­lyon said.

“Some­times you can play well, and other times it’s a bug­ger of a sport, you can never tell be­fore­hand.”

“Our com­pe­ti­tion is thriv­ing and we love it, wouldn’t be any­where else but the golf course.”

Peter Hun­sley (69) won the A-Grade monthly medal, and Col Cluff (67) won the BGrade monthly medal.

Ball win­ners went to Jake O’Driscoll with a nett score of 68, Col Cluff 67, and Alan Pot­ter 68. Win­ning the

put­ting com­pe­ti­tion was Stephen Zipf with 23 putts.

Clos­est to the pin was David Zipf on hole 4, Peter Hun­sley on 5, and Len Weier on 9. Gayle Ben­nett won the ladies com­pe­ti­tion and Sec­ond Grade monthly medal with 72 nett. Put­ting com­pe­ti­tion win­ners were Lyn Car­lyon, Sue Maskovitch and Daphne Wil­liams with 31 putts each.

Ac­cu­rate shots went to Gayle Ben­nett on five, Lor­raine Lin­den­mayer sec­ond to six, and Lyn Car­lyon sec­ond to nine.
