Welcome change for police sergeant

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

EIDSVOLD welcomed Sergeant Chris James to the area this month.

Born and bred in Townsville, Mr James moved to Eidsvold with his family.

He is optimistic about his time in the town.

“Rural policing is very familiar territory for me as I was in the Atherton Tablelands and before that was in Burketown up in the Gulf so I know what it’s like to be in country towns,” Sgt James said.

He said he was already enjoying life in Eidsvold.

“I’m absolutely loving it at the moment, although the cooler nights are a bit different and I’ve been told to expect worse come winter in June,” Sgt James said.

“I’m excited to go water skiing and trying out some camp spots whilst here in Eidsvold.”

While he expected some differences, Sgt James said, as a Queenslander, some things never changed.

“I’ve been an officer for the past eight years and was born in Townsville so come State of Origin time I’ll be barracking for the Mighty Maroons,” he said.
