MORE than $150 was raised from the biggest morning tea in Eidsvold yesterday, with the money going towards cancer research.

Hosted by the Mundubbera Community Development Association, around 20 people attended the event at the RM Williams Centre to enjoy morning tea.

Organiser Bobby-Leigh Redgard said the event was all about raising money for cancer research.

“We’re giving money to Cancer Council, it’s a very important organisation, it’s close to my heart as my uncle had throat cancer and he’s through it now which is good,” Mrs Redgard said.

“With the $150 raised it provides transport and accommodation for people who need to travel for vital cancer treatment.”

They’re hoping that they can raise $500, which will go towards providing training and support groups where people can meet and share their experiences in an emotionally supportive environment.

The Mundubbera Mad Hatter’s tea party takes place today at the MCDA building starting at 10.30am.

Phone the MCDA on 4165 4690 for more information about fundraising.
