Monto market report for Wednesday, May 10
UNDER very wet conditions, Monto agents Monto Cattle and Country yarded 630 head of prime and store cattle. Values slipped for most descriptions, with good-quality weaners holding up the best. Heavy bulls sold from 220 to 258c/kg.
■ A good run of heavy bullocks were yarded by Paul, Monica and Ben Lobegeier, who sold brangus eight tooth bullocks from 255 to 269c/kg, topping at $1850.
■ L.G. and R.E. Benecke sold 585kg droughtmaster bullocks for 268c/kg or $1570.
■ Ted Goody penned santa cross bullocks at 623kg, selling to 259c/kg for $1617.
■ Salisbury Farming sold santa cows 570kg for $1250 to make 219c/kg.
■ Ron and Marg Hampson sold santa cows 583kg to make $1272 at 218c/kg.
■ Ted Goody yarded brahmancross cows 484kg for 215c/kg to return $1040.
■ W.R. and A.J. Goody sold charbray cows 510kg for 221c/kg or $1230. Generally lighter cows sold from 170 to 205c/kg.
■ L.G. and R.E. Benecke penned 450kg charbray steers to realise $1404 at 311c/kg. ■ Conway Barnard’s santacross No 6 steers 391kg returned $1210 at 309c/kg.
■ James A. Sinclair sold santa No 6 steers 377kg for 317c/kg to return $1196.
■ Roy Marbach’s charbray-cross weaner steers 270kg sold to 369c/kg for $992.
■ Salisbury Farming Enterprises sold santa weaner steers 217kg for 391c/kg to make $850.
■ C.S. and A.L.R. Angers santa-cross weaner steers returned $808 at 385c/kg.
■ Neville and Helen Iversen sold brahman-cross cows and calves for $1160 and santa-cross units for $1200.
■ D.A. Baldwin sold young brangus cows and calves for $1500 and $1380.
■ Conway Barnard sold droughtmaster-cross heifers 360kg for $1146 at 318c/kg.
■ L. Baumann and T.A. Ward sold droughtmaster heifers 366kg to return $1040 at 284c/kg.
■ J., F. and C. Younger sold brahman No 6 heifers 330kg for 283c/kg to make $934.
