Due to the rain at the end of Term 1, the Combined Schools Cross Country was held in the first week back this term, with students eager to show their talents on the Cross Country course. The combined event brings together students from Abercorn, Mulgildie, St Therese’s and the Monto State and High Schools, to compete in their School and District competition. The course stretches from the Monto Sports Grounds, following a course along local streets and neighbouring farm paddocks, with the finish line at the Sports Grounds. The Cross Country event is an opportunity for students and staff, along with parents to come together to be part of a large sporting event, but also for the students to participate in fun activities such as ball games and tug-o-war competitions. From this event, successful students moved onto the North Burnett Cross Country held recently in Biggenden, with a small number of students progressing through to the Wide Bay trials to be held at the end of June.
