Newly renovated shed vandalised

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

THE Mundubbera Girl Guides Shed has been vandalised just weeks after a $30,000 renovation.

Mundubbera police were called to the scene and inspected the damage to the building.

“The side of the building was rammed by a steel netball pole which of course gave 10cm holes on the inside,” Sergeant Daniel Clarke said.

“It’s terrible to see reckless damage to such a loved piece of infrastructure for the community.”

Mundubbera Girl Guides Shed vice president Kristy Townsend said it was very disappointing.

She said the girls along with their leaders were left shocked after turning up for their weekly meeting to see the shed had been damaged.

“The girls were incredibly shocked and disappointed when they came in the other day just to see all of their hard work has resulted in having this,” Mrs Townsend said.

“We then had to explain to them why people would do this.”

The shed will have to be re-valued and a costing will be given in the coming weeks.

“We’ll have to get a builder to come and have a look and see if it is structurally down or to see if it needs to get patched up,” Mrs Townsend said.

Anyone with information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Mundubbera Police on 4165 4211.
