Burnett businesswoman takes top award
MUNDUBBERA-BORN businesswoman Kim McCosker has been cast into the international spotlight after claiming top honours at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
Often referred to as the ‘Oscars of the cookbook world’ the awards feature works from identities such as Jamie Oliver and Dr Deepak Chopra.
However, despite considering herself “a very small fish in a large pond”, Mrs McCosker’s Slow Cooker book was awarded Cookbooks Best Selling Author at the ceremony held in Yantai, China, earlier this month.
She won the award against seven other shortlisted authors from Canada, France, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the USA.
“It was really surprising to win but fantastic too,” Mrs McCosker said.
“The experience was amazing and the category we were in was one of the bigger categories too.”
The author of the successful 4 Ingredients cookbooks said it was a hugely rewarding trip.
BIG ACHIEVEMENT: Author Kim McCosker.
