FESTIVAL OFFERS A TASTE OF NORTH BURNETT
THE Heartland Festival is on again this weekend with a major theme of everything great from the North Burnett, including fresh produce.
My Kitchen Rules winners Dan and Steph Mulheron will again be bringing their skills to the North Burnett by providing dine-in platters.
Mr and Mrs Mulheron will also provide signed copies of their cookbooks, up for a raffle at the Art from the Heart exhibition.
The art, wine and cheese evening is on Friday, June 30 from 7pm at the Gayndah Art and Cultural Centre with tickets costing $35 per person.
Three bars will be set up around the venue with more food to celebrate local produce.
Gayndah artist Rhanni McCosker will also be at the event creating a new piece of art, giving visitors a chance to see her work in progress.
Artist Marlies Oakley will have art on display with an exhibition entitled Nothing New.
Mr and Mrs Mulheron won’t be the only visiting celebrity chefs, with Matt Golinski also heading to the North Burnett.
Mr Golinski will be on the Berries to Beef bus tour on Sunday, July 2 where he will get a first hand look and taste of the produce coming out of the North Burnett.
The Berries to Beef Bus Tour is taking place on Sunday, July 2 from 9am until 4pm departing Gayndah.
Tickets are $90 per person. This bus tour is a chance to taste and be educated about some of the best produce on the market and hear straight from the growers, farmers and producers, including a presentation from the owners of Jerakala Beef.
The market day will be running from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, July 1 with everyone encouraged to come down and see everything the North Burnett has to offer.
Entry into the Heartland Festival Market Day is a gold coin donation at the gate.
The Railway Heritage breakfast offers a unique setting and will be on Sunday, July 2 from 7am at the Gayndah Railway Station.
