60 years of marriage for Bob and Gwen
NOT every couple makes it through six decades of marriage, so Bob and Gwen Pott made sure they celebrated the momentous anniversary in style.
The pair, who are Mundowran property owners, celebrated at the Billabong Motel with a meal and the company of family.
One of their sons, Dudley, said it was a night to remember.
“A celebration cake was cut and, adding more significance to the night, a clock was repaired to working order to mark the occasion,” Dudley said.
“The clock was given as a wedding gift and (their other son) Graham organised it to be repaired.
“It was a very special night, with most of the family able to attend, and Gwen and Bob so love when all the family come together.”
Gwen and Bob were married at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Toowoomba on June 22, 1957 and a formal reception followed at Neil St attended by family and many friends.
Their married life has been spent in the Eidsvold and Mundubbera areas, with the last 44 years residing at their Mundowran property “Valley View” outside Mundubbera.
The pair enjoy catching up with their family and participating in the family’s cattle properties.
