Asphalt works start next week
ASPHALT resurfacing works will start next week at various locations in the North Burnett area.
District director Stephen Mallows said the works involved removing sections of the road surface and replacing them with a new layer of asphalt to provide smoother and safer travelling conditions.
“These sections of road have deteriorated over the past few years and these works will minimise future maintenance costs in this area,” Mr Mallows said.
“Works will generally be undertaken between 6am and 6pm and each site is expected to be completed within a few days, weather permitting.
“Motorists and residents are urged to observe the dates on the signs, which will be updated following any changes to the program of works.”
The sections of road to be progressively upgraded include:
■ Mundubbera–Durong Rd at the Leichhardt St and Stuart-Russell St intersection in Mundubbera
■ Burnett Highway and Isis Highway intersection at Ban Ban Springs
■ Burnett Highway floodway just east of Wuruma Dam Rd
■ Isis Highway and Booyal–Dallarnil Rd intersection
■ Booyal–Dallarnil Rd and Grills Rd near Paradise Dam
