A taste of Coalstoun Lakes on bus tour
THIS coming Sunday the Coalstoun Lakes Development Group will host the Tastes of Coalstoun Lakes Tour as part of the North Burnett Heartland Festival.
The tour aims to showcase the produce of the rich agricultural region.
It will also on focus raising some funds to keep the Coalstoun Lakes Development Group in operation.
The CLDG consists of residents of Coalstoun Lakes who are passionate about creating a sustainable future for agriculture in the region.
Event organiser Sarah Aberdein said it would be great to show off Coalstoun Lakes’ “little patch of paradise”.
She said she hoped the tour would excite some people as to what the future could look like for the region.
“I was approached by Heartland Festival organiser Renee McGilvery in regards to participating in this year’s festival,” she said.
Ms Aberdein, along with the committee, decided a tour was the way to go.
“The CLDG decided that it would be a perfect opportunity to introduce people to the area as well as taking some time to appreciate what we can achieve as farmers.”
The menu for the tour has been designed and supported by local businesses and producers, boasting five progressive courses across four different locations.
