The students were part of the annual Coast to Country Tour, conducted by the University, providing students with experiences in small rural settings and highlighting the diverse educational opportunities on offer in the country. The study group visited classes and met with staff to gain an understanding of the key focus areas within the Monto SHS curriculum delivery before touring the School’s facilities. After leaving Monto, the tour continued with visits to local schools within the North Burnett before returning to the Sunshine Coast. The Coast to Country Tour was an excellent opportunity to showcase the successes of the Monto State High and to encourage graduates to move to small schools.
