Monto’s newest police officer wins a TV

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

THERE are many ways of welcoming a newcomer to town, but not all of them involve a 49 inch LED TV.

Monto Senior Constable Matt Stark has been in town for barely a month and managed to win IGA’s latest shopping promotion.

“It’s like a bribe, like a payoff,” Const Stark said, jokingly.

During June, for everyone who spent $50 or more, a ticket to go in the running would come along with their receipt.

Monto IGA manager Sharon Hanley chose the TV to be the prize.

“They gave us so much money to have a promo for this month, I chose a TV because everyone wants a TV, you don’t really want a washing machine,” Mrs Hanley said.

Const Stark has been steadily integrating into the town with his wife and three kids, and is poised to start playing at the Monto Golf Club soon.

“I’ll be there donating my money on a Thursday,” Const Stark said.
