Busby Marou to play in the North Burnett
MUSICAL duo Busby Marou will return to Mundubbera this month as part of the group’s Tiny Towns tour.
Tom Busby said he and fellow band member Jeremy Marou were no strangers to the North Burnett.
“We both had a lot to do with Mundubbera, we played rugby league and had a lot of league trips there,” Busby said.
“It’s been about eight years since I last went there and I am looking forward to seeing how it all goes, by the looks of it the tickets are quickly selling, which is really good.”
Originally from Rockhampton, the group has made waves all over the country and has amassed more than 35,000 subscribers on Facebook.
Busby said he looked forward to returning to regional Queensland, where the band started.
He said the last time the band toured Mundubbera was with Toni Childs in 2010.
“She was a well-known performer and it was great to perform alongside her in front of the audience,” Busby said.
“She performed her latest album at the time (Keep the Faith) and it went off without a hitch.
“This time we’ll be performing on our own and we’re both excited for the opportunity.”
Busby Marou will perform at the Mundubbera Community Hall on July 14 from 7pm.
The band plays in Biloela on July 13 before heading to Mundubbera.
“It was based on gut instincts,” Busby said.
“We want to remember regional towns like Mundubbera that have supported us from the early stages.”
Their latest album, Postcards from the Shell House, is Busby Marou’s first ARIA album.
“We’ll be putting on a good show,” Busby said.
“We will also be playing our two albums and a few other songs, just depends on what the audience wants.”
Tickets to the concert cost $34.70.
