THE Wide Bay Al­co­hol and Other Drugs Ser­vice pro­vides a ser­vice which com­ple­ments other not-for-profit health or­gan­i­sa­tions and pri­mary health ser­vices in the North Bur­nett.

There are four main ser­vices to treat drug ad­dic­tion:

■ Diver­sional ser­vices, opi­oid re­place­ment treat­ment ser­vices, a nee­dle sy­ringe pro­gram and a gen­eral treat­ment ser­vice for sub­stance mis­use is­sues.

■ A mo­bile work­ers cov­ers the North Bur­nett and helps de­liver these ser­vices.

■ Also the WBHHS have de­vel­oped a strate­gic col­lab­o­ra­tive invit­ing par­tic­i­pa­tion from com­mu­nity and clin­i­cal ser­vices, con­sumers and car­ers, in­dige­nous and pri­mary care work­ers to as­sist with treat­ment op­tions.
