QUEENS­LAND cat­tle pro­duc­ers in Great Bar­rier Reef catch­ment ar­eas are be­ing en­cour­aged to take part in an in­no­va­tion project that aims to im­prove reef wa­ter qual­ity out­comes and in­crease farm prof­itabil­ity. The Reef Al­liance Grow­ing a Great Bar­rier Reef project aims to en­able land­hold­ers to change prac­tices across agri­cul­tural in­dus­tries. The aim of the graz­ing in­no­va­tion project is to fos­ter in­no­va­tion that could re­duce ero­sion, sed­i­ments and nu­tri­ents from graz­ing lands while also lim­it­ing im­pacts on prof­itabil­ity.
