Buddies love travelling
French duo enjoying the trip of lifetime
A LIFETIME of friendship began for Zoe Citron and Sarah Meghar three years ago while studying English at university in France.
The bright and bubbly personalities of the pair resonated throughout the room as they recalled a defining moment in their friendship.
Ms Citron said she met Ms Meghar through a mutual friend.
“It was really funny, kind of like love at first sight,” Ms Citron said.
“I was with a friend and I think we were going on the terrace and basically he introduced me to Sarah.
“The friend had to leave to catch the train and I was like ‘um, it’s nice to meet you’.
“Three hours we were talking and it went from there, now three years later we’re the best of friends.”
The pair have done many things together and their love for travelling is evident.
“We basically lived with each other the past couple of years because I’d always spend time at her place and she would spend time at my house, so we were always together,” Ms Meghar said.
“We would go to parties, we went travelling together, the two of us went to the Netherlands.
“It was so nice and we were meeting friends, it was like a nice old couple.
“It’s a really nice place, we visited a lot of gardens and even went to Westerpark which is the biggest garden in Amsterdam.”
Making the trip to Australia was a joint decision between the two women and their other friend Clara Delpierre, also staying in Mundubbera.
“I’ve been wanting to go to Australia since my first year of university because I was hesitating between going to Australia for a year or going to America and we talked about it for a while and the whole group decided to just do it,” Ms Meghar said.
Currently Ms Citron and Ms Meghar are working at the packing sheds in Mundubbera and are really enjoying their time here.
“It’s a pretty small town but we love it.”
