Volleyballers net an impressive showing

Central and North Burnett Times - - WEEKEND -

VOLLEYBALL: The Mundubbera State School Under-15 volleyball team competed in the Darling Downs Cup that took place in Toowoomba recently.

Coach Adrian Brady said his side performed well against the other teams and was happy with their overall achievement.

“The Mundubbera U15s volleyball team competed at the weekend and immediately the Mundubbera side demonstrated their ability with a convincing win against Harristown B,” Brady said.

“The next game was hard fought and resulted in a loss to Harristown A, however the girls bounced back to beat Dalby 30-27 and Kingaroy 30–14.

“This placed them in bronze medal contention. The nerves were high and the girls were tired after a massive day of competition. Mundubbera went out firing and dominated the final game taking home the bronze medal,” Brady said.

As a result, Sophie Zipf was also selected in the Darling Downs All Stars team.

“Hard work and determination is beginning to pay off,” Brady said.
