Championships end well
GOLF: The Gayndah Golf Course just finished its club championships, which was a major event involving golfers from the region.
Gayndah Golf Club captain Steve Gallagher said it was a good competition with a lot of golfers in attendance.
“It was a really great finish to the club championships on the weekend. There were some very interesting and close games contested,” he said.
The results for the competition were Rod Purcell on 29.5 nett, Di Baker 31 nett won the round up and Lindsay Baker won the pin shot on hole 14 with 5.3m.
Baker also won the putting competition.
On Thursday July 27, the winner of sporters was Jean Havlik, the round up went to Brad Schiffke and Kev Gibbson on 28 points. The second round up went to Tom Jameson and Lindsay Baker.
This weekend is the mixed foursomes championships and the remainder of players will play a two-ball ambrose at 12.30pm.
