Cham­pi­onships end well

GOLF: The Gayndah Golf Course just fin­ished its club cham­pi­onships, which was a ma­jor event in­volv­ing golfers from the re­gion.

Gayndah Golf Club cap­tain Steve Gal­lagher said it was a good com­pe­ti­tion with a lot of golfers in at­ten­dance.

“It was a re­ally great fin­ish to the club cham­pi­onships on the week­end. There were some very in­ter­est­ing and close games con­tested,” he said.

The re­sults for the com­pe­ti­tion were Rod Pur­cell on 29.5 nett, Di Baker 31 nett won the round up and Lind­say Baker won the pin shot on hole 14 with 5.3m.

Baker also won the putting com­pe­ti­tion.

On Thurs­day July 27, the win­ner of sporters was Jean Hav­lik, the round up went to Brad Schif­fke and Kev Gibb­son on 28 points. The sec­ond round up went to Tom Jame­son and Lind­say Baker.

This week­end is the mixed four­somes cham­pi­onships and the re­main­der of play­ers will play a two-ball am­brose at 12.30pm.
