With processing cat­tle in short sup­ply, prime cat­tle were sought af­ter with heavy bulls sell­ing from 230 to 257c/kg to top at $2470.

Bul­locks were in short sup­ply sell­ing to 256c/kg or $1626. L and A Mar­shall sold Char­bray cows 600kg for 224c/kg or $1346.

AG and JA Pen­ney sold Bazadais cows 557kg for 212c/kg or $1183.

NJ and VM Ryan’s Brah­man cross cows sold to $1130 or 210c/kg.

JR Bell sold lighter Braford cross cows to 203c/kg or $870.

Gen­er­ally store cows sold from 160 to 175c/kg.

Dale Brown and Fam­ily penned Char­bray cross No.6 steers 478g to re­turn 279c/kg or $1335.

Jack and Eu­nice Payne’s qual­ity Brah­man cross No.6 steers 462kg sold to 282c/kg or $1305.

TOPX North Bur­nett saw a rise in the mar­ket for the sale on Wed­nes­day Au­gust 30. Steers un­der 200kg topped at 347c/kg and av­er­aged 342c/kg.

Steers 200-300kg made 348c/kg and av­er­aged 313c/kg.

Steers 300-400kg sold for 297c/kg and av­er­aged 273c/kg.

Heifers un­der 200kg topped at 271c/kg and av­er­aged 261c/kg. Heifers 200-300kg made 293c/kg and av­er­aged 280c/kg. Heifers 300-400kg sold to 258c/kg and av­er­aged 254c/kg.

BUR­NETT Live­stock & Realty’s meat­works and store sale on Mon­day Septem­ber 4 saw a very mixed qual­ity yard­ing of 1074 head.

The cur­rent dry sea­son saw the bet­ter qual­ity cat­tle sold to firm to dearer rates while the plainer types were cheaper. Heavy bulls topped at 269c/kg; not enough bul­locks were yarded to quote; cows over 500kg topped at 231c/kg; cows 400kg to 500kg topped at 208c/kg; trade heifers over 400kg topped at 267c/kg. Mark Schofield, Childers sold Bazadaise cross cows for 231c/$1352.

EG and EJ John­son, Biggen­den sold Char­bray cows for 228c/$1483. GEE and IJ Dent, Gayn­dah sold Char­bray cows for 228c/$1414. Luke Din­gle, Mt Perry sold Bra­ham cross cows for 239c/$1172.

Feeder steers 400kg to 500kg sold to a top of 270c/kg while steers 300kg to 400kg sold to 338c.

850 were yarded in Murgon on Tues­day with the mar­ket im­prov­ing slightly in cer­tain ar­eas.

Feeder num­bers were in short sup­ply with most of the store cat­tle yarded be­ing weaner age an­i­mals.

Cat­tle were con­signed from Mt Perry, Biggen­den, Mun­dub­bera, Gayn­dah, Yar­ra­man, Nanango, Kin­garoy and lo­cally.

Heavy bulls sold to $2330 and 250c/kg.

Cows over 520kg sold to 210c/kg av­er­ag­ing 199c/kg. Cows in the 400 – 500kg range av­er­aged 201c/kg for a top of 212c/kg.

Lighter cows un­der 400kg sold to 185c/kg.

Ex­port type heifers topped at 257c/kg and $1380. 400kg Here­ford steers sold to 272c/kg for $1102.

An­gus steers 465kg re­turned $1210.

355kg Char­bray steers a/c K Cum­mings Coringa sold for $1010 and 284c/kg. 373kg Santa steers from L Wil­son sold to $1020 at 273c/kg.

Glen­rock Farms sold 315kg An­gus cross steers for $1040 at 275c/kg.

R and F Ni­chol Mt Perry sold a line of Char­bray weaner steers for a top of 339c/kg and $810. 257kg Charo­lais cross weaner steers from A and E Graz­ing Byrnestown sold to $818 at 318c/kg. Drought­mas­ter cross heifers weigh­ing 405kg sold for $1042 and 257c/kg.

305kg An­gus cross heifers sold to 270c/kg re­turn­ing $824.

226kg An­gus weaner heifers from Court and Eller­ton sold to 309c/kg for a $700 re­turn. Charo­lais cross weaner heifers weigh­ing 226kg sold to $689 at 302c/kg.

Char­bray weaner heifers from J and M Kin­sella Manum­bar sold to 300c/kg for $650. Bet­ter qual­ity weaner heifers sold mainly in the 270 - 290c/kg bracket.

Lind­say Bau­mann and Toni Anne Ward con­signed polled Drought­mas­ter cross No 6 heifers which sold to Trevor and Sue Zielke for 270c/kg or $1130 at the Monto Fat and Store Sale.

TopX Eidsvold saw a rise in the mar­ket for the sale on Wed­nes­day Au­gust 30.
