The current dry season saw the better quality cattle sold to firm to dearer rates while the plainer types were cheaper. Heavy bulls topped at 269c/kg; not enough bullocks were yarded to quote; cows over 500kg topped at 231c/kg; cows 400kg to 500kg topped at 208c/kg; trade heifers over 400kg topped at 267c/kg. Feeder numbers were in short supply with most of the store cattle yarded being weaner age animals.
Cattle were consigned from Mt Perry, Biggenden, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Yarraman, Nanango, Kingaroy and locally.
Heavy bulls sold to $2330 and 250c/kg.
Cows over 520kg sold to 210c/kg averaging 199c/kg. Cows in the 400 – 500kg range averaged 201c/kg for a top of 212c/kg.
Lighter cows under 400kg sold to 185c/kg.
