Speed brings driver undone
AN UNLICENSED driver caught travelling at more than 40km over the speed limit also allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine. Police intercepted the male driver at Eidsvold on Tuesday afternoon. The man was allegedly doing 121kmh in an 80kmh zone.
Police said the man also tested positive for methamphetamine.
He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court next month. Sergeant Chris James said the incident was a reminder that the number of officers being trained in drug testing was increasing and that drug testing units from Bundaberg, Maryborough and Kingaroy had operations planned through the North Burnett area. “These operations have proved successful in the past and the number of roadside tests in and around Eidsvold are set to increase,” Sgt James said.
