Short of world titles
TIMBER SPORTS: Mount Perry’s Brodie Dingle has missed out on the Chopperoos selection for the upcoming world titles in Norway.
The Stihl Timbersports woodchopper needed to finish inside the top four in his group at the Australian Championships in Melbourne to qualify for the final on Sunday and compete for one of the five spots on the team.
Instead, Dingle scored 18 points in his group, Pool B, to finish 10 points behind Tasmania Kody Steers (28) who took the last spot.
The event was taken by Lithgow’s Brad De La Rosa, who won his second title.
He will be joined in the Chopperoos squad by Bradyen Meyer, Laurence O’Toole, Glen Gillam and Mitch Argent.
Dingle had been out of the sport for some time, taking a year off for the birth of his child.
During that time he had been maintaining his fitness, but ultimately missed the cut.
Dingle will now have to wait until next year to try again.
