Influenza rise

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

ACROSS the State, 3242 case of influenza have been detected since the start of the year – 300 more than the same time 12 months ago. Last year there were 5710 influenza hospitalisations across the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service area and 678 Intensive Care Unit administrations due to the illness. A Queensland Health spokesman said it was wise to vaccinate. “The number of year-to-date cases of influenza in 2018 is higher than previous years, but it is too early to tell if this flu season will be worse,” he said. “Our message remains the same – make sure you get vaccinated every year.”
