BIGGEN­DEN SALE RE­PORT BUR­NETT Live­stock and Re­alty’s meat­works and store sale on Mon­day, April 9, saw a yard­ing of 1340 head at Biggen­den.

Heavy bulls topped at 274c/kg; bul­locks topped at 276c/kg; cows over 500kg topped at 255c/kg; cows 400–500kg topped at 242c/kg; and trade heifers over 400kg topped at 277c/kg.

Feeder steers 400–500kg sold to a top of 280c, while steers 300–400kg sold to 328c. Steers 200–300kg sold to 368c. Heifers 300–400kg sold for 286c and heifers 200–300kg sold to 280c. Cat­tle were drawn from Theodore, Moura, Scotchy Pocket, Rock­hamp­ton, Rosedale, Mun­dub­bera, Gin Gin, Gayndah, Wondai, Tansey, Mary­bor­ough, Mur­gon, Bund­aberg and all lo­cal ar­eas. Grey brah­man cows from Mun­dub­bera sold to a top of 255c/$1398. Bran­gus cows from Mun­dub­bera sold for 245c/$1653. Char­bray cross cows from Gin Gin sold to a top of 238c/$1822. Grey brah­man cross cows from Gayndah sold for 232c/$1378. Cross­bred cows from Mt Perry sold for 231c/$1323. Drought­mas­ter two-tooth steers from Theodore sold for 279c/$1203. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter cross steers from Lowmead sold for 272c/$1173. Milk-tooth char­bray steers from Gayndah sold for 277c/$1316. Santa cross milk-tooth steers from Bund­aberg sold for 287c/$1094. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter steers from Theodore sold for 279c/$1092. Milk-tooth brah­man cross steers from Moura sold for 279c/$959. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter steers from Lowmead for 290c/$1006. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter steers from Mt Perry sold for 294c/$900.

Red bran­gus weaner steers from Rosedale sold for 330c/$871. Bran­gus weaner steers from Mt Perry sold for 332c/$902. Milk-tooth char­bray and bran­gus heifers from Mun­dub­bera sold to 277c/$1365 for the char­brays and 268c/$1326 for the bran­gus. Drought­mas­ter milk-tooth heifers from Moura sold for 264c/$898. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter heifers from Theodore sold for 265c/$942. Milk-tooth drought­mas­ter heifers from Bund­aberg sold for 285c/$909. Milk-tooth senepol here­ford heifers from Scotchy Pocket sold for 280c/$855. Bran­gus weaner heifers from Mun­dub­bera sold for 286c/$865. Char­bray weaner heifers from Yan­daran sold for 285c/$565. Red bran­gus weaner heifers from Rosedale sold from 268c/$556.

MUR­GON SALE RE­PORT MUR­GON agents yarded just un­der 1000 for the liveweight sale Tues­day.

The mar­ket was eas­ier through­out with the ex­cep­tion of heav­ier ex­port cat­tle which re­mained fairly firm. Heavy bulls sold to 262c/kg and $2330. Bul­locks topped at 277c/kg for $1800.

Cows over 500kg sold to 235c/kg and $1470., av­er­ag­ing 221c/kg.

Cows 400–500kg av­er­aged 205c/kg top­ping at $1050. Lighter cows un­der 400kg sold to 195c/kg.

The Ward Fam­ily Crown­thorpe sold charo­lais cross steers for 300c/kg to re­turn $1695. Two pens of char­bray steers a/c K Cum­mings Coringa sold for $1230 at 285c/kg and $983 at 290c/kg (338kg).

W & K Sip­pel Redgate sold red an­gus steers weigh­ing 472kg for $1340 at 285c/kg. Two pens of an­gus cross steers from Manum­bar sold for $1320 (282c/kg, 468kg) and $1220 (282c/kg, 432kg). Charo­lais cross steers from K Grimes Pros­ton sold for $1070 at 287c/kg (373kg). Ar­mitage Fam­ily Trust sold two pens of santa weaner steers for $776 at 335c/kg and $763 at 308c/kg. Lo­cal char­bray heifers sold to $1110 at 258c/kg. Santa cross heifers from Pros­ton sold for $890 at 269c/kg. Weaner heifers topped at 278c/kg and $771, with most sell­ing in the 255–265c/kg bracket.

The Stein­hardt fam­ily Hivesville sold drought­mas­ter cross weaner heifers for 268c/kg re­turn­ing $771. The next Mur­gon sale will be held on Tues­day, April 24 at 8am.
