BIGGENDEN and District Kindergarten youngsters have been busy creating some fabulous pieces of art for a fundraising initiative.

Their work will go on display this Saturday night at the Biggenden Apex Rose Festival Ball where patrons can bid on them by silent auction.

Kindergarten director Belinda Hawes, who came up with the idea, said each of the paintings would be numbered.

“Patrons will have the opportunity to bid on the painting of their choice,” she said.

“A bid is put into an envelope and the highest bidder after the final showing on festival day gets the painting.”

Ms Hawes said the children had done a wonderful job.

“There are some outstanding pieces, with unicorns being popular,” she said

“The children found what they wanted to draw from the internet.

“Staff drew the outlines on a canvas before the children used their painting skills.”
