GRACE­MERE

A YARDING of 2560 head was pre­sented at Grace­mere on Fri­day.

The yarding com­prised of 1264 steers, 800 heifers, 363 cows, 96 x 96 cows and calves and 17 bulls.

Cat­tle were drawn from all lo­cal ar­eas, the Clermont dis­trict and sev­eral lines of store cat­tle from Collinsville and Mackay.

All reg­u­lar buy­ers were present, along with some new or­ders fol­low­ing the wide­spread rain across the re­gion.

The mar­ket for all de­scrip­tions re­mained firm to dearer.

Prime cat­tle showed the most sig­nif­i­cant gains.

Ken Lane and Fam­ily sold cross-bred weaner steers to a top of 370c/kg, weigh­ing 214kg to re­turn $793/hd

Ka­punda Sta­tion Sa­rina sold bran­gus cross steers to a top of 438c/kg, weigh­ing 148kg to re­turn $627/hd

Jim Church­wood Wowan sold prime cows to a top of 226c/kg, weigh­ing 584kg to re­turn $1322/hd.

Tur­ley Cat­tle Co ‘Dur­d­han Downs’ Clermont sold brah­man cross bul­locks to a top of 274c/kg, weigh­ing 547kg to re­turn $1479/hd

OC & MM Howard Collinsville sold brah­man No.6 steers for 324c/kg, weigh­ing 317kg to re­turn $1027/hd

K & J Parry Koumala sold No.7 char­bray steers to a top of 404c/kg, weigh­ing 225kg to re­turn $868/hd

Jarvis Collins Glen­roy sold qual­ity red brah­man heifers for 270c/kg, weigh­ing 370kg to re­turn $1000/hd
