GROW­ERS are in­vited to join Doug Sands, Dar­ren Aisthorpe and the De­part­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Fish­eries’ re­gional agron­omy team for a se­ries of meet­ings be­ing held across Cen­tral Queens­land to dis­cuss and share the lat­est re­search and trial find­ings.

The Cen­tral Queens­land Agron­omy Up­date will be about re­search be­ing un­der­taken by the De­part­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Fish­eries and GRDC in your re­gion. It will in­clude:

■ Win­ter ce­re­als – is risk cost­ing you more than frost? ■ Nu­tri­tion – deep place­ment of nu­tri­ents, how long will it last?

■ Pulse crops – does row spac­ing and pop­u­la­tion re­ally mat­ter?

■ Farm­ing sys­tems – do more crops al­ways equal higher in­comes?

■ Weeds – can sum­mer resid­ual her­bi­cides han­dle hot dry weather bet­ter than oth­ers?

■ Sum­mer ce­re­als – does pre­ci­sion place­ment as­sist pro­duc­tiv­ity.
