$1 mine quickly picking up pace
TERRACOM has celebrated the redevelopment of the Blair Athol Coal Mine as more than 124,000 tonnes of coal was mined between August 13 and September 30.
The mining company bought Blair Athol for just $1 and was given the rights to the mine in May.
According to TerraCom’s financial results released Monday, the first coal was mined on August 13, the first product coal crushed on August 25, first dragline swing on August 26, and in that month it also sent out its first invoice for coal.

forecast 2 million tonnes per annum,” the report reads.
“The coal handling and preparation plant on-site has been recommissioned and is scheduled to commence coal processing (this week).”
The company said Xenith Consulting had upgraded the total mine reserves to 15.6mt, an increase of 2.1mt.
