Central Queensland News - - SCHOOL HOLIDAYS -

WALK through history at Hoods Lagoon, in Clermont. This area is a beautiful spot for a family picnic or to just relax and watch the wildlife on the lagoon. The park is a relaxing venue with barbecues, picnic tables and toilet facilities. There are a number of footpaths and boardwalks around the Lagoon where you can explore the numerous memorials which tell the story of Clermont's history. There is a rock water feature and bridge which crosses the lagoon, which is a popular and picturesque backdrop for beautiful photos.

Across the road from the flood marker pole is the famous “piano in the tree”.

This is a replica of an actual piano which was lodged in the tree after flood water had receded. This piano was one of three pianos found in trees after the 1916 flood. Make sure you check it out.
