MEMBER for Burdekin Dale Last has made his first school visits for the New Year, visiting three of his most western schools in the Burdekin electorate in Clermont last week.

Mr Last met with students from every school in Clermont, including both Clermont State High School and Clermont State Primary School, as well as St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Mr Last presented anti-bullying “Bucket Books’’ to the students during his visit.

“Early last year I made a pledge to visit and donate anti-bullying Bucket Books to all the schools within my electorate,” Mr Last said.

“After the electoral redistribution I added almost 20 more schools to my list to visit this year.

“I am passionate about spreading the anti-bullying message in our schools and this is one way I can help our students to manage this insidious issue which is extremely relevant at the moment.

“Our schools play a vital role in educating our future leaders and there is nothing I enjoy more than visiting our rural schools to meet with staff and students.”
