Top skeet shoot­ers do bat­tle

SHOOT­ING: The State Skeet Car­ni­val be­gan in Black­wa­ter yes­ter­day, bring­ing the best in the sport to the re­gion.

Black­wa­ter Clay Tar­get Club sec­re­tary Vere Storch said the sport was for all ages.

“Clay tar­get shoot­ing can be en­joyed from our ju­niors (12 years) right up to older aged (in their 90s) in ei­ther gen­der on the same level com­pe­ti­tions in all dis­ci­plines,” she said.

“Vis­i­tors are wel­come to at­tend and see the very best of Queensland clay tar­get shoot­ers come up against other in­ter­state and in­ter­na­tional com­peti­tors who at­tend this year’s event.”

Black­wa­ter hosted the ti­tles pre­vi­ously and com­peti­tors from this week­end’s shoot will qual­ify to com­pete at Na­tion­als in Wagga Wagga next year.

Nom­i­na­tions are ac­cepted prior to 10am each day at the Black­wa­ter Bluff Sport­ing Com­plex.

The multi gauge pre-state con­test was held over two days and the State Car­ni­val is from to­day to Sun­day.
