Top skeet shooters do battle
SHOOTING: The State Skeet Carnival began in Blackwater yesterday, bringing the best in the sport to the region.
Blackwater Clay Target Club secretary Vere Storch said the sport was for all ages.
“Clay target shooting can be enjoyed from our juniors (12 years) right up to older aged (in their 90s) in either gender on the same level competitions in all disciplines,” she said.
“Visitors are welcome to attend and see the very best of Queensland clay target shooters come up against other interstate and international competitors who attend this year’s event.”
Blackwater hosted the titles previously and competitors from this weekend’s shoot will qualify to compete at Nationals in Wagga Wagga next year.
Nominations are accepted prior to 10am each day at the Blackwater Bluff Sporting Complex.
The multi gauge pre-state contest was held over two days and the State Carnival is from today to Sunday.
