Biloela Panthers Juniors
UNDER 7s Blue played Calliope in Calliope and no score was recorded. Under 7s Biloela Black defeated Gladstone Wallabies 9-8. Under 8s Gladstone Brothers defeated Biloela 7-3.
Under 10s Biloela: Lead by Keripo Gela the boys found it hard going against a team of giants. Wallabies defeated Biloela 7 tries 1 goal to 2 tries and 2 goals. Special mention to Colby, Harry, Darius and Leo.
Under 11s went down 32-12 to Calliope but played well. Jone got knocked out in the first tackle. Two try scorers were Bradley Brandt and Jack Lees. Ethan Cusack was selected man of the match by the opposition coach.
Under 12s went down 16-4 against Gladstone Wallabies. The boys showed a lot of grit in the second half, delivering some strong defence in the middle of the field and finished the second half at one try each, with Wallabies sole try coming in the dying minutes of the game. Zane Moon was strong in both attack and defence. Trenton Yunkaporta and Saxon McCrohon showed some flashes of brilliance in attack, while Tyler White, Corey Smith, and Thomas Chalk hit hard in defence.
Under 14’s went down 72-0 to Calliope/Brothers and the under 16s won against Gladsone Wallabies 30-4.
On Sunday we played a single stroke event over 14 holes, for Ian Kirk’s trophy. The winner this week was our No.1 Adam Drochmann with a great score of 51 nett. Runner-up was another new younger member in Kurt Shaw only one back on 52 nett.
The rundown went to Joe Mazzacuva also on 52 nett, and Nols Coetzee on 54 nett, with Kirky on 55 nett, completing the rundown. The encouragement award this week went to Mick Szelag on 63 nett.

This weekend we will decide on the event on Sunday morning for Wayne Heid’s trophy.

Seven of our members travelled to Tannum Sands on March 5, where 51 players from seven centres enjoyed playing in the Seniors Doubles Competition. All players performed well.
Names are now being taking for the DCV/Rocky weekend against Bundy in Bundaberg on April 1 and 2. This is always a good weekend both socially and tennis-wise starting with lunch at the courts at midday Saturday. Please let Clarice (4995 1128) know if you are going.
Entry forms will be printed next week for the DCVSTA’s Open Seniors Tournament to be held in Biloela on May 20/21. Please also start thinking about playing in this.
