Biloela Pan­thers Ju­niors

UN­DER 7s Blue played Cal­liope in Cal­liope and no score was recorded. Un­der 7s Biloela Black de­feated Gladstone Wal­la­bies 9-8. Un­der 8s Gladstone Brothers de­feated Biloela 7-3.

Un­der 10s Biloela: Lead by Keripo Gela the boys found it hard go­ing against a team of giants. Wal­la­bies de­feated Biloela 7 tries 1 goal to 2 tries and 2 goals. Spe­cial men­tion to Colby, Harry, Dar­ius and Leo.

Un­der 11s went down 32-12 to Cal­liope but played well. Jone got knocked out in the first tackle. Two try scor­ers were Bradley Brandt and Jack Lees. Ethan Cu­sack was se­lected man of the match by the op­po­si­tion coach.

Un­der 12s went down 16-4 against Gladstone Wal­la­bies. The boys showed a lot of grit in the sec­ond half, de­liv­er­ing some strong de­fence in the mid­dle of the field and fin­ished the sec­ond half at one try each, with Wal­la­bies sole try com­ing in the dy­ing min­utes of the game. Zane Moon was strong in both at­tack and de­fence. Trenton Yunka­porta and Saxon McCrohon showed some flashes of bril­liance in at­tack, while Tyler White, Corey Smith, and Thomas Chalk hit hard in de­fence.

Un­der 14’s went down 72-0 to Cal­liope/Brothers and the un­der 16s won against Glad­sone Wal­la­bies 30-4.

BAMC

On Sun­day we played a sin­gle stroke event over 14 holes, for Ian Kirk’s tro­phy. The win­ner this week was our No.1 Adam Drochmann with a great score of 51 nett. Run­ner-up was an­other new younger mem­ber in Kurt Shaw only one back on 52 nett.

The run­down went to Joe Maz­za­cuva also on 52 nett, and Nols Coet­zee on 54 nett, with Kirky on 55 nett, com­plet­ing the run­down. The en­cour­age­ment award this week went to Mick Sze­lag on 63 nett.

This week­end we will de­cide on the event on Sun­day morn­ing for Wayne Heid’s tro­phy.

DCV Se­niors

Seven of our mem­bers trav­elled to Tan­num Sands on March 5, where 51 play­ers from seven cen­tres en­joyed play­ing in the Se­niors Dou­bles Com­pe­ti­tion. All play­ers per­formed well.

Names are now be­ing tak­ing for the DCV/Rocky week­end against Bundy in Bund­aberg on April 1 and 2. This is al­ways a good week­end both so­cially and ten­nis-wise start­ing with lunch at the courts at mid­day Satur­day. Please let Clarice (4995 1128) know if you are go­ing.

En­try forms will be printed next week for the DCVSTA’s Open Se­niors Tour­na­ment to be held in Biloela on May 20/21. Please also start think­ing about play­ing in this.
