Wowan Show is on tomorrow
THE 84th Wowan Show will be held at the Wowan showgrounds tomorrow.

The Wowan Show committee has a band of members and volunteers to bring you an enjoyable good old country show.
The committee acknowledges the wonderful support from sponsors, exhibitors and the community and extend a warm welcome to the people of Central Queensland.
Pavilion judging gets under way today. The committee welcomes entries in all the pavilion sections and would love to see the pavilions full with an array of exhibits.
The pavilion sections include needlework, home cooking, arts and craft, photography, children’s sections, floriculture, fruit, vegetables and farm produce.
Tomorrow gates open early with the ring program including stockman’s challenge from 9am, stud cattle judging at 10am, poultry judging at 9am.
Rockhampton Regional Councillor Neil Fisher will open this year’s show.
This year we have had a couple of changes with entertainment throughout the day: Local Vocals Group from Biloela singing from 11am, Tyrone the Circus performer performs throughout the day, Wood chop demonstrations throughout the day – it’s being 30 years since Wowan has seen wood chopping at the Wowan Show, BJ Horsemanship Trick Riding and Liberty Demonstration, Fashion Parade, Dog Jumping competition, Four Wheeler and motorbike, Deb and Tim from “Just Us” will entertain during the night.

Congratulations to local Brahman stud cattle exhibitors Del and Narelle Chapman.
Del and Narelle spent a couple of days at the Ekka and were excited to win three second placings in the brahman classes.
Well done to Bec Wilson and her handlers for parading the Chapman’s family exhibits.
Congratulations to Girlie Goody of Monto for winning the pen of three heifers/steers at the Ekka carcase competition.
Girlie plays a major role in the Callide Dawson Beef Carcase Competition Committee and Girlie loves carcase competitions.
We’ll have some more great news next week regarding more local winners at the Ekka.
SHAI Pearce played some great golf on Sunday to win the monthly medal with a 57 nett, runnerup was DJ Vickers with a 64 nett.
DJ won the Monthly Putting medal with 23 putts and Shai was runner up with 25 putts. Shai also won the daily pinshot.
Some members travelled to Gracemere for their men’s open, we trust that they all had a great day of golf.
This Saturday is the Duaringa Ladies Open and Sunday is the men’s open, best of luck to all competing.
The Frenchville Social golfers had a game of golf at Wowan on Sunday. They congratulated the Wowan Golf Club on the presentation of the course and they enjoyed their pie and vege lunch.

OUR deepest sympathy wishes to the family of the late Gloria Keyes formerly of Mt Morgan.
Mrs Keyes was a regular visitor to the Wowan and Dululu district judging the flowers sections at the annual flower show and mother’s day.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this sad time.
