HIS­TORY OF CLAY TAR­GET SHOOT­ING

The sport is be­lieved to have been in­tro­duced to Aus­tralia in 1924.

It is the act of shoot­ing fly­ing clay tar­gets with a shot­gun, tak­ing time, skill and hand-eye co­or­di­na­tion to shoot right. There are now more than 300 clubs across Aus­tralia with the Aus­tralian Clay Tar­get As­so­ci­a­tion.

The lo­cal Cal­lide Daw­son Club is lo­cated on the Jam­bin Dak­enba road, past the meat­works.
