THEODORE has a council supported park at their show grounds and a free camp at the junction.

Moura has the Apex Park which is run in conjunction with the local fish stocking group and has a courtesy bus to and from Moura on a daily basis which benefits the local economy.

I have been requesting of Banana Shire Council for the past two years regarding making available the area between the channel and the care takers cottage at the dam available to self contained vans and motor homes.

This is behind the wall but would then be a legal camping option.

With this and the 8 sites the council has made available we can at last say it is legal to camp at Callide Dam and take steps to advertise in the correct areas and attract the huge grey nomad tourist influx to our area.
