Goovi­gen lo­cals take out Wowan show win­nings

CON­GRAT­U­LA­TIONS Shaun Ca­vanagh and Emily Authurs on qual­i­fy­ing for the Capri­cor­nia Ath­let­ics Team.

Emily will com­pete in the 400m and 800m. Shaun will com­pete in dis­cus.

Both will be hop­ing to qualify for the Queens­land Ath­let­ics Team. Well done and wish­ing you both ev­ery suc­cess.

Show suc­cess

MARY and Ken Lang have had suc­cess with their Cly­des­dales at the an­nual Wowan Show.

With 10 heavy horses pa­raded be­fore the judge David Pit­stock, Win­dama Cly­des­dale Stud, Goomeri.

Ken and Mary’s Bren­dal­lan Es­ther won the filly/mare class, Grand Shire Cooper owned by Scott Ni­cholas and Tyneille Mad­den won the geld­ing class.

The beau­ti­ful Es­ther went on to win Supreme Cham­pion Heavy Horse of the Wowan Show with Grand Shire Cooper win­ning the Re­serve Cham­pi­onship rib­bon.

The work­ing classes were such fun, the day be­longed to Dar­ren Cres­sard who won the pur­ple rib­bon.

DJ took Grand Shire Don into the rid­ing classes how­ever he was beaten by Jane Stephens on her Drum horse Lizzie.

The work­ing classes were won by DJ, both DJ and Don are novices but man­aged to win the cham­pi­onship rib­bon, con­grat­u­la­tions DJ.

Nine-year-old Claire Farrow won the Ju­nior Han­dlers Class lead­ing Grand Shire Cooper, this was Claire’s first time in the show ring.

Lana Ste­wart has also had suc­cess at the Wowan Show com­ing in sec­ond place on Buf­falo Soldier and a third plac­ing on Janita Dolls Des­tiny in the Novice Chal­lenge. Well done Lana.

Jes­sica Spoor re­ceived equal first in the open chal­lenge, won the novice chal­lenge came third in the four-year-olds and un­der and got first and equal sec­ond in the ju­ve­nile chal­lenge. Ex­cel­lent work Jess.
