Men gather at shed

THEODORE Men’s Shed will hold a gen­eral meet­ing at the premises (old SES build­ing) on Satur­day, Septem­ber 2 at 9am.

Mem­bers are in­vited to at­tend for an up­date on re­cent shed ac­tiv­i­ties.

Pro­posed im­prove­ments to the shed and pro­cure­ment of ad­di­tional equip­ment will also be dis­cussed.

Fu­ture events, in­clud­ing a pro­posed health night in con­junc­tion with Theodore Med­i­cal Cen­tre some­time in Oc­to­ber, will also be ad­dressed.

Mem­bers and in­ter­ested com­mu­nity mem­bers are urged to come along to par­tic­i­pate in this gath­er­ing.

Bulls and Bar­rels

THEODORE Early Childhood Cen­tre An­nual Fundraiser is fast ap­proach­ing with Oc­to­ber 7 not that far away.

The Bulls and Bar­rels Bo­nanza will show­case some great en­ter­tain­ment for the night in­clud­ing buck­ing bulls, bar­rel rac­ing, over 40s sec­tion (a first in CQ), celebrity steer ride and so much more!

We have some big prize money up for grabs so we should see some awe­some rid­ers mak­ing their way to Theodore.

Kids’ ac­tiv­i­ties, food and bar will also make for an ac­tioned packed night for the whole fam­ily. Muster your friends, lasso the fam­ily and brand the date into your cal­en­dar.

River Fes­ti­val

THEODORE River Fes­ti­val is a multi-func­tion event, held over four days, to cel­e­brate the Daw­son River in Theodore.

A fun filled fam­ily week­end with lots for kids and adults alike. One of the high­lights to the event is the art show on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 28.

Called “un­corked” the wine a cheese night will have on show lo­cal art and sculp­ture.

Lo­cals are in­vited to sub­mit their junk sculp­ture.

The river fes­ti­val will en­com­pass a multi cul­tural food fes­ti­val or­ga­nized by Theodore Com­mu­nity Link.

Roost­ers last home game

A BIG thank you to the fol­low­ing peo­ple for their help with the Desert to Ocean 2k17 camel rides. Thank you so much to Michelle and War­ren Hughes for or­gan­is­ing the event, Lone­some Creek Trans­port for get­ting the camels from Rolle­ston to Theodore, Xtreme1 Servo, Theodore Home and Gar­den Café, Theodore News, Jo and Cheyenne Ed­wards, Holmes En­ter­prise – for do­na­tions to­wards fuel. S and A Farms do­nated hay and Theodore Sport and Rec pro­vided ac­com­mo­da­tion for the camels and car­ers.

Our last home game was a very suc­cess­ful day with over 80 rides and over $300 raised for the Theodore Ju­nior Roost­ers.

The Desert to Ocean Camel trek left Theodore on Mon­day head­ing to Cra­cow Beach for the night.

They will con­tinue to travel through Eidsvold and on to the Sun­shine Coast in the next week.

Golf Day

HO­TEL Theodore’s an­nual Golf Day will be held on Sunday, Septem­ber 3.

It will be an Am­brose with a shot­gun start at 9am.

Nom­i­nate your team of four by Au­gust 30.

En­try is $200 per team and in­cludes green fees, drinks and nib­blies.

Join us at the Ho­tel af­ter the game for nib­blies and a few tunes by Adrian Brown.

There will be a cour­tesy bus to the Ho­tel af­ter the pre­sen­ta­tions.


YOUNG CAMEL: Bo­gan the camel and Cindy Hughes. Bo­gan is 17 days old and is be­ing hand fed af­ter he was re­jected by the cow (mother).
