Men gather at shed
THEODORE Men’s Shed will hold a general meeting at the premises (old SES building) on Saturday, September 2 at 9am.
Members are invited to attend for an update on recent shed activities.
Proposed improvements to the shed and procurement of additional equipment will also be discussed.
Future events, including a proposed health night in conjunction with Theodore Medical Centre sometime in October, will also be addressed.
Members and interested community members are urged to come along to participate in this gathering.
Bulls and Barrels
THEODORE Early Childhood Centre Annual Fundraiser is fast approaching with October 7 not that far away.
The Bulls and Barrels Bonanza will showcase some great entertainment for the night including bucking bulls, barrel racing, over 40s section (a first in CQ), celebrity steer ride and so much more!
We have some big prize money up for grabs so we should see some awesome riders making their way to Theodore.
Kids’ activities, food and bar will also make for an actioned packed night for the whole family. Muster your friends, lasso the family and brand the date into your calendar.
THEODORE River Festival is a multi-function event, held over four days, to celebrate the Dawson River in Theodore.
A fun filled family weekend with lots for kids and adults alike. One of the highlights to the event is the art show on Thursday, September 28.
Called “uncorked” the wine a cheese night will have on show local art and sculpture.
Locals are invited to submit their junk sculpture.
The river festival will encompass a multi cultural food festival organized by Theodore Community Link.
Roosters last home game
A BIG thank you to the following people for their help with the Desert to Ocean 2k17 camel rides. Thank you so much to Michelle and Warren Hughes for organising the event, Lonesome Creek Transport for getting the camels from Rolleston to Theodore, Xtreme1 Servo, Theodore Home and Garden Café, Theodore News, Jo and Cheyenne Edwards, Holmes Enterprise – for donations towards fuel. S and A Farms donated hay and Theodore Sport and Rec provided accommodation for the camels and carers.
Our last home game was a very successful day with over 80 rides and over $300 raised for the Theodore Junior Roosters.
The Desert to Ocean Camel trek left Theodore on Monday heading to Cracow Beach for the night.
They will continue to travel through Eidsvold and on to the Sunshine Coast in the next week.
HOTEL Theodore’s annual Golf Day will be held on Sunday, September 3.
It will be an Ambrose with a shotgun start at 9am.
Nominate your team of four by August 30.
Entry is $200 per team and includes green fees, drinks and nibblies.
Join us at the Hotel after the game for nibblies and a few tunes by Adrian Brown.
There will be a courtesy bus to the Hotel after the presentations.
YOUNG CAMEL: Bogan the camel and Cindy Hughes. Bogan is 17 days old and is being hand fed after he was rejected by the cow (mother).
