THE final home game of the Dawson Valley district junior rugby league was held at Theodore last weekend.

It was a great turnout with over 60 kids from Theodore, Baralaba, Woorabinda and Moura playing in games for under-6 up to under-12.

Special guests on the day were Ash and the Desert to Ocean 2k17 walk crew with their 17 camels including two babies. The crew donated their time and camels for rides with the proceeds going to the Theodore Junior Roosters.

More than 80 rides were held and the event was well supported by the locals and even a couple of grey nomads joined the fun.

The Desert to Ocean 2k17 trek was founded by Ash as a way to become a walking caravan of camels to increase awareness for suicide prevention, domestic violence and breast cancer.

They are headed towards the Sunshine Coast with their next town being Eidsvold.
