LOU DANIEL faced Mag­is­trate Me­lanie Ho at Biloela Mag­is­trates Court on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 13 charged with driv­ing with­out due care and at­ten­tion or driv­ing with­out rea­son­able con­sid­er­a­tion for other per­sons us­ing the road or place. Daniel was driv­ing a friend’s Toy­ota Land­cruiser 4WD on 11th Ave at Theodore when he lost con­trol of the ve­hi­cle and rolled it on July 9. The ve­hi­cle did a full ro­ta­tion across the roof and was a write-off. Daniel told the court he swerved to miss a dog and lost con­trol. He was fined $800 and a con­vic­tion was recorded.

PETER SALT faced court for hav­ing one too many birth­day beers. Salt faced a charge of driv­ing over the mid­dle al­co­hol limit but not the high al­co­hol limit. He was in­ter­cepted by po­lice on the Bur­nett Hwy at Jam­bin on Au­gust 13 at 9.58am, when he blew a read­ing 0.104. Salt claimed he had had a few birth­day drinks the night be­fore and thought he was okay to drive. He was given a three-month dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion and fined $650. His con­vic­tion was recorded.

LISA CUR­RAN fell in trou­ble with the po­lice af­ter hav­ing a wine with brunch. Cur­ran was in­ter­cepted by po­lice on June 30 at 1pm on Glad­stone Rd at Biloela when she blew a read­ing of 0.119. Cur­ran said she had only had one glass of wine and the duty lawyer ques­tioned the ac­cu­racy of the read­ing. Cur­ran was fined $850 and dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for three months. Her con­vic­tion was recorded.
