LOU DANIEL faced Magistrate Melanie Ho at Biloela Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 13 charged with driving without due care and attention or driving without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or place. Daniel was driving a friend’s Toyota Landcruiser 4WD on 11th Ave at Theodore when he lost control of the vehicle and rolled it on July 9. The vehicle did a full rotation across the roof and was a write-off. Daniel told the court he swerved to miss a dog and lost control. He was fined $800 and a conviction was recorded.
PETER SALT faced court for having one too many birthday beers. Salt faced a charge of driving over the middle alcohol limit but not the high alcohol limit. He was intercepted by police on the Burnett Hwy at Jambin on August 13 at 9.58am, when he blew a reading 0.104. Salt claimed he had had a few birthday drinks the night before and thought he was okay to drive. He was given a three-month disqualification and fined $650. His conviction was recorded.
LISA CURRAN fell in trouble with the police after having a wine with brunch. Curran was intercepted by police on June 30 at 1pm on Gladstone Rd at Biloela when she blew a reading of 0.119. Curran said she had only had one glass of wine and the duty lawyer questioned the accuracy of the reading. Curran was fined $850 and disqualified from driving for three months. Her conviction was recorded.
