INCORRECT LOGBOOK HOURS

Central Telegraph - - NEWS |COURT -

CAMERON John McAdam has been carting cattle for 25 years and he said it’s all he has ever done. However a lapse in his log book has left him before the Biloela Magistrates Court.

On Wednesday, August 29 McAdam pleaded guilty to one charge of operating under standard hours as a solo driver with rest less than minimum rest time.

He was transporting drought stricken cattle that had come from north Queensland to an area around the Banana Shire when police intercepted him on June 17 to inspect his heavy vehicle and log book.

The record showed he had only had about four hours rest in a 24-hour period when the minimum was seven hours. As a result he was fined $1500 and a conviction was recorded by Magistrate Beckinsale.
