Anglers hook up for a Classic weekend of fishing on the river
Hook, line and sinker
HAVE you got your rods ready for the Saratoga Classic next weekend?
Many fishing experts will mix it with the locals for great prizes in this annual comp on September 8-9.
Get there early to nominate and cruise up the river or fish on the bank.
Any kind of fish small or large wins a prize.
Support your local fishing club and join Robbie, Sharon and locals at the bar capably run by Mark Mac.
Enjoy a burger from the P&C food stall and support your local school.
The P&C has been running the food for 15 years, so lend a hand and make light work of it.
Fun games for the kids will be played before the presentations on Sunday with prizes on offer.
Pink vintage night
THIS event will be held at the Historical Village on Saturday, September 15.
The event will start about 3pm with afternoon tea and a tour of the village a highlight.
There will be a wearable art fashion parade then dinner will be served in true country style. Please wear your “vintage” garment.
All proceeds will go to women’s cancer research.
There are plenty of great prizes to be won. Would love to have you join us.
LOVELY news reached us last week of the engagement of Casey Dahl and Ed Mccamley.
Casey is the only daughter of Karen and Des Dahl while Ed hails from Dingo. Also happy 60th goes to dad Des.
A gathering of family and friends enjoyed a game of golf and a session at the hotel to help celebrate Des’s birthday.
Congratulations all round.
THE aged care second hand shop is overstocked so a massive sale is happening.
Tomorrow and next Saturday, September 8 you can stock up on bargains.
Elinor and the ladies have a great array of clothing, linen, curtains and books for sale. The “guide hut” 2nd shop is located behind the RSL hall.
If you are a newcomer go along and grab a bargin. Stock is cheap, cheap, cheap.
RSL hall makeover
DID you notice our community is undergoing a makeover?
The RSL hall is being painted inside after many years of the same cream.
The progress association is going for a fresh new colour so the hall will look its best for our 100-year reunion.
Council workers have been cleaning up in preparation for this historic event. Give your own yards a tidy so our town will look spectacular for this huge event.
HAVE you registered at the post office for the Baralaba School 100-year reunion?
Yes that would be great if locals reply and fill out the short form so organisers get an idea about who is coming.
Is anyone you know needing accommodation?
Please let me know and I can assist you with this.
There are still spots at the showgrounds for caravans or tents, register on their Facebook page.
