YOUNG Nate Wilson loves his footy.

The Biloela boy often heads along to local games to cheer on his home side and revels in the chance to play on the field at half time with his sister Indi.

Nate who is four years old is “very cheeky, loveable and friendly”.

This little life of the party also happens to have Down syndrome and recently had the chance to live out his football dreams with the Titans, who are big supporters of Down Syndrome Queensland.

This year, the Titans had a run out on the field for Down syndrome children during round 11 of the football against the New Castle Knights.

Nate’s mum Jenna Wilson said they were devastated they couldn’t attend the run out but would be on the Gold Coast during the first weekend of September.

“We were down on the Gold Coast for a wedding on a Sunday and the Gold Coast Titans v North Queensland Cowboys game was the Saturday which worked in well,” Jenna explained.

“Tony Wilson (Nate’s Dad) contacted the Titans to see of it was possible if Nate could run out with the team.

“They said it was a once-off event but they could work something out for us.”

Shortly after the conversation with the Titan’s Jenna, Nate and the rest of the family found themselves watching the game live and in person.

“They (the Titan’s) collected us at half time from our seats and we went onto the field side line, got photos, ran around, kicked a ball, played with the cheer leaders,” Jenna said.

Nate waved to the crowd and the crowd loved him.

Nate and his family then went into the tunnel and waited for the captain of the Titans, Ryan James.

“He carried Nate out onto the field followed by Jarrod Wallace who held Indi.

“They ran the team out to the field for the second half of the game,” Jenna said.

“When we returned back to our seats people were asking questions and wanting to take photos as they were genuinely excited for us.”

A video has since been uploaded to the Titans Facebook page which has been shared, liked and commented on by hundreds of people.

“Complete strangers are commenting with beautiful messages,” Jenna said.

“It’s just heartwarming to see.

“Since returning back home the Titans have contacted us and are sending out the photos from the night which is autographed by the team.

“A big thank-you to the Gold Coast Titans for the experience we absolutely enjoyed ourselves.”
