MELODIES at the MPC on Tuesday was once again filled with the sound of beautiful music.

Patrons had the pleasure of having Rachel Smith and her sons Barry and Charles entertain and then had the pleasure of having Olsson family members join Rachel.

It was great to see Barry and Charles singing at their inaugural Melodies morning.

Daphne Weber was the winner of the lucky door prize, Sasha Evers won the raffle with Sonia Campbell winning second prize, and there were many winners in the cent sale.

November Melodies will not be held on the first Tuesday of the month as it is Melbourne Cup Day. Melodies will be held the following Tuesday and patrons will have the pleasure of having the Wahroonga Singers entertaining.

We look forward to November’s melodies.

Cher shines

ON SATURDAY night I had the opportunity to go to Cher’s concert in Brisbane with my sister Jenny and we also met John and Ros Gunzler.

A great night was had and at the age of 70 plus, Cher’s voice is still incredible.

The stage production was the best and after each song (except for a couple) Cher had a costume change and boy, what stunning costumes.

It was definitely worth the trip down. The trip home was a wet one with torrential rain in places and luckily I was in front of that hail storm that hit Childers.
