Work makes great experience

Chinchilla News - - LOCAL LEARNING -

HI, MY name’s Annika Luebbe (pronounced Arnika, for all the people out there that are just too Australian).

I’m 14 going on 15 this year and in Year 10 at Miles State High School.

I was born in Toowoomba and have lived on the same property, in the same house, in the same town of Miles, ever since.

I’ve always been the creative type, good in English... not so good in Maths.

When I was younger I aspired to be things like a professional surfer, or horse rider, or gymnast.

Although, as I got a bit older I decided those ideas were a bit wild and thought something arty, with certainty of a real job, would be more my style.

I figured that my love of photography could somehow be put to use and photographic journalism then became something I got really excited about.

So here I am, sitting in this newsroom, on my second day of work experience typing up this article about myself.

Maybe it’s just the people working here, or the fact that my days have been pretty stress-free and really fun, but I think photographic journalism is what I’m going to strive for.
