Mobility scooters gone walkabout

Chinchilla News - - LIFE -

AS a complimentary service to those in our community who cannot afford mobility devices, our Lions Club continues to provide used motorised scooters and medicarts where the need is deemed the greatest.

We have half a dozen of these devices in the community, together with a number of wheelie walkers.

But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently out of touch with the users of our medicarts and mobilised wheelchairs.

New registration stickers have turned up for some of these chairs but we are at a loss to pass them on because we have not got the addresses of the end users.

So we ask, could the recipients of all our mobility devices simply contact us.

Currently, we have a couple of mobility devices on hand so, if you know some worthy recipient, please contact Secretary Lindsay at PO Box 193, Chinchilla or by phone on 0427 656 201. ***** This weekend is our Chinchilla Club’s Annual Changeover and Installation of Officers.

President Elect is Lion Deon Hunt and we know from past experience, we are in for an interesting and fun filled year. ***** A joke: This Lion arrived home a little under the weather after a couple of drinks too many.

His wife let fly with a spray of derision ending with the question, “And anyway, what’s the pub got that I haven’t?”.

His reply was “Well at least the pub shuts up at 10 o’clock!”.
