Grand gala day at Noonga ten­nis courts

ANY­ONE who has trav­elled along the Jack­son-Wan­doan Rd re­cently would have no­ticed the great devel­op­ment of the Noonga ten­nis courts.

A grand gala open­ing cer­e­mony will take place on Satur­day.

From 8am, every­one will have the op­por­tu­nity to try out the new courts by par­tic­i­pat­ing in an Amer­i­can Tour­na­ment, and much more is planned through­out the day.

There are mar­ket stalls, chil­dren’s rides and en­ter­tain­ment, his­tor­i­cal dis­play plus a bar and can­teen op­er­at­ing all day, bar­be­cue lunch and pig on the spit din­ner and en­ter­tain­ment un­til late.

In ad­di­tion, a spe­cial Brand­ing Noonga event will be held where you are in­vited to bring your brands along and make your mark at Noonga.

Gate en­try is $5 per per­son or $20 per fam­ily and this in­cludes your ten­nis nom­i­na­tion.

At 4pm, the of­fi­cial guests will cut the rib­bon and de­clare the courts open, thus ac­knowl­edg­ing the sup­port of the Depart­ment of Sport and Recre­ation, Mara­noa Re­gional Coun­cil and the Su­rat Basin In­dus­trial Sands and Re­sources and many oth­ers who have as­sisted in the courts’ re­fur­bish­ment.
